What is the lifetime of a Saniflo macerator?
The lifetime of a Saniflo macerator depends mainly on the correct installation and usage. However, devices typically have a lifetime of 10 to 12 years with minimal maintenance, i.e. cleaning-descaling annually, and, depending on the quality of the water in your region, the replacement of the operating membrane.
What is the warranty period?
All Saniflo products come with a 2-year warranty. If you have purchased a product from the “UP” range and registered it online, you will have activated a further 3-years warranty.
Can the warranty be voided?
The warranty can be voided if the product has not been installed in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines.
Flushing items other than human waste and toilet paper can damage the product and will also invalidate the warranty.
Failure to maintain the product will also void the warranty. Measures must be taken to tackle potential problems with limescale. Saniflo produce a special formulated de-scaler/cleanser for this purpose.
CAN I BOX IN OR TILE OVER THE PRODUCT?
It is possible to conceal the product. When doing so, you must bear in mind that access may be needed for future maintenance.
Any boxing should be easily removable. Thought should also be given to the isolation of the water going to the toilet. A local isolation valve should be fitted to ensure the toilet can be moved when needed.
Can I flush wet wipes into the product?
No, even if the packaging claims they are “flushable.”
How long does a Saniflo macerator run when the toilet is flushed?
The flush discharge generally triggers 2 to 3 cycles lasting 1 to 2 seconds each.
Are Saniflo macerators noisy?
The Saniflo macerator operates at a noise level comparable to that of a standard toilet flush. The decibel output may vary depending on factors such as the specific product and surrounding conditions, such as the presence of tiles, room size, and shape. The latest silence range reduces sound emissions by 10dB compared to its predecessor.
To optimise sound control, it is essential to adhere to the installation guidelines. This includes preventing direct contact between the macerator and the wall, utilising anti-vibration pads beneath the tank, and installing piping at recommended intervals. Additionally, users have the option to enhance soundproofing by incorporating a layer of sound insulation between the macerator and the floor and/or wall.
Where can I find the manual for a Saniflo product?

What precautions should I take during winter to prevent Saniflo issues?
What types of pipework are suitable for Saniflo units?
